It has taken more than 35 days work and 40,000 man hours to move a 1,000 tonne, 100ft by 40ft building. The building move by Jeremy Patterson House Movers was the largest in USA so far this year. Mr Patterson devised a unique way to move the structure on 248 tires six blocks into downtown Washington, Iowa, over the course of a week from Feb. 22 - 27, 2010. The building was built in 1900 and is known as the F.B. Mills Seed Company Building.

“This was extremely difficult,” Patterson said, as he supervised workers adjusting the dollies used to move the building. “We’re going in a really tight spot and we had a heck of a route to get done.”
